Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
The Art of Broth is a small, family-run business, and we want our website to work for everyone who wants to buy from us, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, use magnification, or prefer less movement on screen.
We are not claiming our site is perfect. Accessibility is something we work on continuously, and this page is meant to tell you honestly where we are.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the internationally recognised guidelines for making web content accessible, and they are the standard most commonly referenced in relation to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
We describe our site as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That means we meet most of the standard, and we know about some areas that do not yet fully meet it. Those are listed below.
What we have done
- Pausing movement. Our pages include short looping videos and scrolling text. Every page has a Pause motion button in the footer that stops all of it. If your device or browser is set to reduce motion, we stop it automatically without you having to ask.
- Keyboard navigation. The whole site can be used without a mouse. A visible outline follows your position as you tab, and a Skip to content link appears when you first press Tab so you can jump past the menu.
- Colour contrast. We check text against its background to meet the required contrast ratios, and we have corrected the places that fell short.
- Tap and click targets. Buttons and links are sized so they can be activated reliably, including by people with limited dexterity or on a phone.
- Images. Images that carry meaning have text descriptions. Images that are purely decorative are marked so that screen readers skip them rather than reading out a file name.
- Page structure. We use proper headings, landmarks and form labels so that assistive technology can describe the page and move through it.
- Captions and sound. Our product videos are silent and show someone preparing broth. They carry no spoken information, so no information is lost if you cannot see or hear them.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you about these than have you discover them:
- Third-party content. Parts of our site are provided by outside services, including our checkout, our payment buttons and our Instagram feed. We do not control their code. If one of these blocks you, please tell us and we will find another way to help you complete what you were doing.
- Our statement headline. One section of our homepage uses a large decorative display typeface. It is readable at its size, but it is less legible than the rest of our type.
- Video descriptions. Our preparation videos are supported by written steps next to them. We have not yet added separate audio descriptions.
- Older pages. We are rebuilding our site. Some older pages have not yet been through the same review as our main pages.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will help you directly, including taking your order over email if that is easier.
Email info@theartofbroth.com. We aim to reply within two business days.
It helps if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened. If you know what you browse with, for example VoiceOver on an iPhone or NVDA on Windows, that is useful too, but please do not worry if you do not.
How we assess this site
We review our site using a combination of automated checks against the WCAG 2.1 AA criteria and manual testing with a keyboard and a screen reader. This statement was prepared following a review carried out on 17 October 2026. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit, and we will say so here when we do.
